Tara Compehos is a Certified Professional Midwife (licensed in Hawaii and Louisiana) who works intimately with plant medicine. She believes in undisturbed birth, normal physiological birth, and birth empowerment. Since birth is a dance between parent and child, and not about the midwife, Tara approaches it with humility, respect, groundedness… and a tool bag of well-maintained skills. For 20 years Tara owned a small herbal remedy business called Roots Remedies Hawaii. She is both humbled and proud to carry the legacy of traditional midwifery and lomilomi teachers. It is with this energy that she offers courses on plant medicine, midwifery skills, childbirth education and cultural humility.
